Traditional Art
You might ask me, Wes, what's traditional art? Good question. I will refuse to answer. But these portraits, landscapes and things I will loosely classify as somewhat traditional art. Having said that, portraits are probably my favorite. I enjoy trying to capture personality and emotion. Whether it's a person, old tree or a barn door, there should be a story to tell – a connection. I like to experiment with techniques; palette knife, brushes, thin or thick paint textures. It varies with the feel of the subject but I do lean towards texture and brush strokes, especially for landscapes. I want it to look like a painting, not a photograph.
