I'm a retro guy, child of the 70s and 80s, so practically anything from my childhood or earlier is in my wheelhouse, especially Universal Monsters, 80s Horror and SciFi and retro TV Heroes from the 60s and 70s. Call it pop culture art or fan art, I'm ok with it. It's the most fun I've had doing art. I also love seeing the connection people have when they see something that takes them back to another time or a memory. I don't try for photo-realistic, it's more what I like to call implied realism. I'm trying to capture an emotion or personality. Certain focal points may be more detailed but others very loose. I want to see brush strokes and be more interesting. I want it to feel like art, a painting.
